Picasso was fascinated with the bullfight and, in both his graphic and painted oeuvres, it was one of his preferred artistic subjects. In his attendance at bullfights, he is often shown together with two other afficionados: his wife Jacqueline and his friend, the poet-artist-cinéaste Jean Cocteau.
