Notes:
1. Croquez describes this plate as “one of the most skillful of a whole production, having a Breughelian character.”
2. In this 2nd state, the blacks have been lightened and numerous cuttings have been etched in the sky, left and right.

Formerly Collection:
Dr. Frederic Trüssel, Bern (Ref. Koller no. 2938). Trüssel had one of the great Ensor collections. The entire collection was expertised by Taevernier.
