ALBERT LEBOURG

Montford sur Risle 1849 - 1928 Rouen

Albert Lebourg participated in the 4th and 5th Impressionist Exhibitions of 1879 and 1880. The first of these exhibitions included: Caillebotte, Cassatt, Degas, Lebourg, Monet and Pissarro; while the second included: Caillebotte, Cassatt, Degas, Guillaumin, Lebourg, Morisot and Pissarro.

Lebourg made two séjours in Holland. The first of these was in the fall and winter of 1895-1896. In those months, the artist explored the cities of Rotterdam, The Hague, Delft and Dordrecht. He also spent a great deal of time studying the Dutch countryside with its canals, boats and windmills. When he returned from Holland, Lebourg presented a solo exhibit at the Galerie Mancini in Paris. Most of the works shown had been executed in Holland
