Hans Sebald Beham is known for his intricate prints depicting peasant life. He worked extensively on tiny, highly detailed, engravings, some as small as postage stamps, which lead to his classification in the German printmaking school called the Little Masters. Beham was a prolific printmaker, producing nearly 2,000 engravings, etchings and woodcuts.
